The 14th annual Toronto Waterfront Festival returned to Sugar Beach, September 14-15, 2024. Thank you to everyone who joined us to see flying dogs, tall ships, pirates, the Army, Navy, live entertainment, food and so much more!

Canine WATERSPORTS COMPETITION
Canine Watersports Canada (CWC), is Canada’s premiere dog dock jumping organization. Founded in 2016, CWC has been thrilling families and fans across Ontario with their exciting events.
The sport of dock jumping (sometimes called “dock diving”) is a relatively new attraction, with the first recorded events in 1997. A typical event features a dog-and-handler team atop a 36-foot dock, adjacent to a 45-foot-long pool filled with water.
Dogs fly through the air and land in the water with a dramatic—and occasionally audience-drenching—splash, after which the longest jumper is deemed winner. It’s wet, it’s wild, and most of all, it’s wonderfully wholesome entertainment for every member of the family. The dramatic competitions, the speed and athleticism of the dogs, the pounding music, the emcee’s introductions, the splashing water—all of these elements combine to create an invigorating atmosphere based in wholesome fun and responsible pet ownership.
A variety of cute pups dove, jumped and fetched all weekend long. There were planned competitions as well as open time for healthy dogs of any size, shape, age and breed to test their skills.
It was a PAWSOME time!
NAUTICAL ENTERTAINMENT
The festival had no shortage for entertainment including: Live music and pop-up entertainment presented by Redpath Sugar. An emerging artists showcase from The Remix Project. Interactive cultural programs from Moccasin Identifier. Exclusive festival cruises on Empire Sandy. Balloon sword fighting with Pirate Life Theatre and fun crafts and games from Live Green Toronto. There were tons of delicious eats enjoyed in the Billy Bishop Airport Picnic Lounge and free fitness classes with UNITY Fitness, presented by Menkes.
Canadian Armed Forces
The Canadian Armed Forces rolled in with a massive armoured vehicle, weighing over 45,000 pounds. People explored th Tactical Armoured Patrol Vehicle (TAPV), met the crew, explored their gear and learned about what life is like as a military member.
ROYAL CANADIAN NAVY
Ready Aye Ready! The Royal Canadian Navy returned to the festival once again. Visitors took photos with their mascot SONAR and listened to performances from the Navy’s very own band.
